This Saturday 31st October, 2016 Women Sitting Volleyball National team leave Kigali to Slovenia where they meet countries for test matches. The delegation composed by 12 players and 4 staffs will reach Ljubljana Airport on 1st November at 16h45 by Turkish Airlines /TK1063T.

The main purpose of this trip is to gain experience in Sitting Volleyball on international level. Players will get time to train with Slovenia National Team and play friendly matches every day until 5th November. It is planed to play friendly matches with Germany, Hungary, Croatia and Finland from 6th to 9th before the start of Women European Championship 2015 which will qualify on European team for Rio2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Championship will start on 7th November in Sports Hall Podčetrtek in which 8 countries are going to participate: Slovenia, Russia, Finland, Hungary, Ukraine, Netherlands, Germany and Croatia.
Rwanda Women Sitting Volleyball team qualified to participate in Rio2016 Games last July after winning the African Championships Title. It will be for the first time ever for Africa to have a women Sitting Volleyball team in Paralympics. Rwanda made the history and opened this great opportunity for African Women.
On this road to Rio2016, It is planned that Rwanda will have different local and international training camps, this one for Slovenia open the one year schedule of activities. Rwanda women Sitting Volleyball team will participate in Intercontinental Cup from 17 – 23rd March, 2016 which will be organized in Hangzhou City, Tangqi Town, P R China. In this competition all qualified teams test their level before Paralympic Games and qualify one team for men and women.
From May to August 2016, Rwanda will continue to have friendly matches with strong teams so that the chance to reach podium in Paralympics increases.
Note that Rwanda makes its first debut in this sport and will be representing Africa.
